  1. I would like to see more resident pick up their dog waste. There are designated doggy do areas as lined out in our bylaws. Those areas are equipped with bags for pick up and disposal. If this is not an option for someone, then a suggestion would be to hire an outside pooper scooper. The current landscape maintenance company (YP) does not generally pick up the waste (or not that I have seen).

Dog waste contains large amounts of bacteria such as Escherichia Coli (E.Coli) and Salmonella which are washed into waterways and oceans, causing contamination and potential human infections. Parasites such as Hookworm and Roundworm can live for years in soil where dog poo has been left to degrade, leading to further animal or human infection.

This is a concern because the smell of the pet waste is offensive, and while we have numerous neighbors trying to sell their homes, the sight of the waste is offensive as well.

  2. This isn't really a "community area" suggestion, but right now there are raised outlines where our brass numbers used to be on our doors. I believe those areas can be sanded down and painted over, making them look a lot nicer, but we'll need to make sure the contractors are notified to do this before they leave in a couple of weeks. I also wonder what to do about the leftover holes in the doors.

On a similar note, should we replace the unit signs that are now above our doors? I have no idea how much it would cost, but they should go number-letter (1A) instead of letter number (A-1).

  3. Adam, I've seen on home repair shows that you can use automotive body filler to repair doors (dents, holes, etc). The construction company could spread that over the holes, let it dry, sand it down, and then paint over it. Whether they will do that is another question.

And I agree about the unit signs. They should be replaced, and not at our expense. Someone screwed up. Why wouldn't they use the same format that we had?

  6. Per the issue related to dog waste. We are having KRJ research dog waste management companies that specialize in poo removal. I have requested 3 quotes from three different companies. Once I hear something, I will post it here. Thanks.

  7. Beware! The squirrels are eating through AC wiring at the outdoor AC units. So far the repairs have cost me $400 over 3 repairmen visits.

  8. The middle walk through gate's magnet is loose. Therefore, if the door magnet is askew, it does not totally connect to the gate magnet leaving magnet connection deactivated.

  9. Can we request that pest control spray a little extra for fleas and ticks?

    Thanks.

  11. Residents, please remember to throw trash in the designated receptacles. You can help keep our property looking great by removing and cleaning in debris that belongs to you. Please note: The porter is not on duty to clean behind residents, and only takes care of minor issues on property (i.e. changing light bulbs and foliage removal).

  12. Is the Bin by the mail boxes used to recycle trash mail that we put in their? At least this is what I thought it was used for. Earlier today, I saw someone throw all that recycling paper into one of the dumpsters. If this is what we've been doing all along and not actually recycling it then this is an issue we need to fix. Possibly have a green container or bin with recycle signs on it and have someone pick it up ever so often to get all that excess paper actually recycled. Just a thought...

  13. When the yard people came last Sunday, they left an estimated 6 foot by 3 foot pile of leaves by the dumpster closest to the exit. I noticed this because I park in that area. Not only did the leaves blow around immediately, the rain last night blew them again and through the parking areas and clogged up the drain. Please make sure all leaves are picked up by the yard people.

On another note, the cement drain blocks have not been turned around and properly placed so there is standing water after it rains. I have asked repeatedly for this to be done. I would do it myself (like I have other times) except they are too heavy for me to lift.

Other people around the complex agree, seems like we have to ask over and over again for things to get done.

Would people who put trash in the patio trash cans, please not use them for bulky items that stick out? After seeing trash for 4 sometimes 5 days, I take it out of the trash can and throw it away in the dumpster.

Please, everyone, let's be considerate of other tenants. Tis the season for peace, love and joy.
    Merry Christmas
